Lee, this is the reason why I usually read books at least twice. The second time through allows me to really appreciate what the writer is doing and shows me how much I really missed on the first pass. I’ve read Hamlet countless times and listened to it as an audio-book, and seen it at the theater and watched various movie versions. Each time is more enjoyable than the last one.
Perhaps you should give LIFE ON MARS another try as well. I seem to be in the minority that liked both the GALACTICA and MARS finales.
Maybe I’m just really dense, but I have had trouble getting all the nuances of BSG for the entire series. Then again, I’ve never been able to just watch a show for the sake of entertainment. I spend the entire hour trying to decipher what it is that the writers are really trying to say. That’s what you get when you major in English. I’m tainted for life.

So glad to hear about your change of heart on this. A lot of the episodes leading up to the end had some overwrought parts. But the end made it all worth it.
Although I haven’t watched the finale–I completely gave up on the show after the Planet of the Apes mid-season finale–from what I’ve read about it, they really should’ve gone with Battlestar Atlantia.
