I’m a HUGE fan of Dick VanDyke’s and would like his home address so that I can send him a letter and maybe a Christmas card each year. I also would like to send him a picture of my son, who is also named Dick and ask him some questions about what it was like doing The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder. If you could give me his address itwould be great and it could be just betwen us.

You’re right, I do get asked this a lot, twice in one day, in fact. But I don’t mind. Here’s my answer to you both. Not only do I have Dick’s home address and phone number, but I also have his cell phone number. I can also tell you how to reach his son, his grandson, his daughter, and his son-in-law. I think I may even have his wife’s cell phone number as well. I will be glad to pass them along to you, along with his driver’s license and social security numbers. If there is any other way I can help you invade the privacy of this legendary entertainer, please don’t hesitate to ask. Oh, I also have the home addresses and phone numbers of the regular cast
and all the guest stars who appeared on DIAGNOSIS MURDER, as well as information on how to reach the stars of all the other
shows I have done. If you would like those, too, just let me know and I’ll get them to you right away. I’m sure the actors wouldn’t mind…
…or you could write to Dick in care of the William Morris Agency, which represents him.
Personally, I’m not interested in Dick Van Dyke’s number. But if you have Mary Tyler Moore’s, I have a few things to tell her.

Dick is one of the most unassuming stars I’ve ever worked with. He really is as nice as he seems. Should they get through to him I bet he’d be cordial.

I also have a daughter named Lee and she finds it to be a good name also (since she is named after her mother). I promise we won’t stay long at your house. Maybe a week or two at most during Christmas.

My friend, Muriel Bunta, wrote a great poem for Mr. Van Dyke when he left New Orleans and because I had just moved myself, she mailed me a copy. It was brilliant!
I was wondering if I could get a copy of that poem because I lost contact with Muriel and would love to find her which I probably never will (that was over 50 years ago).

Gday could I please have an Address for Dick Van Dyke. I am laying here watching diagnosis murder for the 100th time and keep promising myself I will write to him. I’m a 64 yr old grandma who fosters rescue dogs from Sydney and have grown up with him, I adore his work and his cheeky happy persona .
I did eventually do this for Angela Landsbury the week she passed away.
I don’t want any more regrets like this.

I just wanted to leave a message for the great Dick Van Dyke, I am crying so forgive me. I grew up watching you and Mary, I lived, as a child, a terribly tragic life, full of various abuse which ruined my spine, BY MY OWN FAMILY. I remember my grandfather (because I lived with them) took me to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It was my favorite memory of my grandpa. I wish mr. Van Dyke that you were my dad. I alwAYS wished YOU were my dad. My own father tried to kill me when I was 4 yr old. I’m not snotting on my laptop about that, I just want this message to get thru to you. How great a man you are, how great a comedy actor and dramatic actor you are. But your face, smile i love you I love you Mr. Van Dyke. You mean SI much to me and I thank you for that beautiful voice of yours, signing to the kids of “Hushabye Moutain. I prayed for a bird to free me to take me away …the damn bird never showed. You helped me make it thru horrible abuse. I just thought you might like to know. I Love you Mr. Van Dyke…you’re such a talent good man and father. I wish men were like you.
My favorite Dick Van Dyke moment:
It was 1978 or 79 and I was working at Ralph’s grocery store at 3rd and San Vicente. Mr. Van Dyke came bounding in, went through the turnstile, realized that he wanted The Sunday newspaper, then tried to go back through the same turnstile to get the paper. The turnstile refused and he pulled back and gave the stubborn mechanism a characteristic quizzical look. He then tried to reach over the rails. I believe he made two attempts over the rails, in the second one, he went all out, folding his tall self virtually in half.
That appeared to be my cue and I came over and handed him the newspaper and he was quite appreciative.
He was very genial when I bagged his items and told him that I had thoroughly enjoyed “The Comic” which had been shown on TV just about a week before. He responded that they had a lot of fun making that movie.
All things considered I think that had he been born earlier he would’ve been as terrific in silent movies as he has been with sound movies and television.
