NBC has already announced their fall schedule — nearly two months earlier than usual. Variety reports that there are some surprises: SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE will do a live, prime-time edition on Thursdays, THE OFFICE is hatching a spin-off, and the long-running series SCRUBS and LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT are missing from the schedule (and are presumably cancelled). New drama series include the revamped KNIGHTRIDER, MY OWN WORST ENEMY (starring Christian Slater), CRUSOE (a new take on Robinson Crusoe), and the Tom Fontana-produced series THE PHILANTHROPIST.
You can find the full schedule after the jump.

L&O Criminal Intent has moved to USA, Lee. There were a half dozen new shows that aird a few months ago, and new shows will begin again in June.
Scrubs isn’t really a surprise, as it was announced prior to this season that this would be its last, and as for Law & Order: CI, I think its move to USA sealed its fate with NBC.
I’m looking forward to what Fontana comes up with…but while L&O: CI might be history, remember it’s being treated as primarily a USA cable series, so its non-mention isn’t necessarily indication of its demise (more Witt and wit would help). Likewise, SCRUBS is likely to migrate to ABC for its last, short season, if NBC won’t pick up the option. BROADCASTING AND CABLE for its part took the THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE segment to be solely WEEKEND UPDATE sketches, hences SCRUBS might be replaced, for three weeks anyway, by a latter-day THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS. Tina Fey can’t be too upset about that.
They would put LIFE up against NUMB3RS.
Is it the same cast doing anyother show on Thursday nights? Television is devoid of prime time variety shows, it’s certainly a gamble.
Does “putting [anything] up against [anything]” have meaning anymore with dual tuner dvrs? Who watches TV on the man’s timetable anymore?
Sadly, the networks seem still to be making decisions based primarily on “live” Nielsen numbers, Chandler Hill…whether or not that makes sense, and even with ACN’s attempts at more comprehensive figures, such as those attempts are.
