I’m one of the 100 authors who contributed a chapter to 100 MUST READ THRILLERS the latest book from the International Thriller Writers, which comes out in July. It’s not too soon to preorder your copy from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or directly from Oceanview Publishing. My chapter, by the way, is on Trevanian’s “The Eiger Sanction.”

I read the EIGER SANCTION recently, great book. I am wondering, are there any other similar books you would recommend?
Yep. And my chapter is on James Grady’s “Six Days of the Condor.” Lot of interesting stuff in there.
I loved that book. My chapter is on The Green Ripper.
Wow, what a great book! What a great collection of thrillers and a great collection of commentators. It was especially nice to see David J. Montgomery’s name, who is a frequent guest on your blog, Lee.
Of course, I would have a quibble! A glaring omission or two was Chandler and Hammet. “The Maltese Falcon” and “The Thin Man” are not included? Huh?? And “The Big Sleep” is not included? Huh?? And a half dozen of Alistair MacClean’s books could have been included. Six more books of Spillane’s could have been included.
Nevertheless, for the student of the genre, this is a wow book. Good work! Now what we need is a book that traces the development of the Thriller through all of these examples! There’s a Ph.D thesis in here!
My chapter is on Ross Thomas’ CHINAMAN’S CHANCE.
