  1. When I was a kid, I thought the promos for SEARCH were very cool (in the midst of the Apollo program, what kid couldn’t dig an action hero backed up by an entire Mission Control?) but never saw it. After all, I was seven, and as the article comments the show was on at 10 pm. Finally, in the ’90’s I saw the pilot, PROBE. Even though it had Burgess Meredith and John Gielgud, it was nowhere near as great as the series I constructed in my second-grade imagination.

  2. This would be a great series to remake for today’s techno-savvy, Clancy aware audience. Actually, didn’t Fox have a series on about a spy with a handler who always contacted him via mic in his ear? The handler was a geek and the spy a smooth operator?

  3. There’s an existing spy show where the high-tech handler is a geek and the spy’s a smooth operator: “Alias.” (At least, that was the setup the last time I watched it — I haven’t this season.)
