John Creasey’s widow, Jeanne Williams, is very much with us and a formidable novelist in her own right. You can reach her at: http://jeannewilliams.net/
I keep wondering about the cumulative effect of these Main Titles — having millions of Americans view these week after week over the years. (Okay, for some of these shows it was probably only a few weeks worth.) Do we now have some buried associations we don’t consciously understand? We see an ormolu mantel clock and wonder why it brings to mind an image of a woman screaming?
OTOH, I think a lot of the faces in this clip look as if they are really from the Beautiful Agony site.
Wow, though I’ve heard of John Creasey, I’ve never heard of this show. Wild opening.
Yet another American-in-London mystery series . . . .
Not that ITC was looking to replace THE SAINT….Nahhhhh…..

Jan,
The last line of your comment killed me.

Here is a fine minibiography of John Creasey. No wonder a valued TV series arose from his work.
