Used Book Haul

My wife and I were out running errands today.  One shop she visited was next door to…you guessed it… a used book store. Twenty minutes and ten dollars later, I emerged with:

HERITAGE OF BLACKOAKS by Ashley Carter (Harry Whittington)
SCANDAL OF FALCONHURST by Ashley Carter
ROGUE OF FALCONHURST by Ashley Carter
SWORD OF THE GOLDEN STUD by Ashley Carter (damn, I was going to use that title for my next DIAGNOSIS MURDER novel)
GUILTY BYSTANDER by Wade Miller
DRISCOLL’S DIAMONDS by Ian MacAlister (Marvin Albert)
THE MIERNIK DOSSIER by Charles McCarry

…then I got home and discovered I already have DRISCOLL’S DIAMONDS and SCANDAL OF FALCONHURST. Oh well.

  1. You don’t keep a list of the books you own? I know it sounds geeky, but I keep a list of my 3,500 books and growing on a Dell PDA. It’s about the only thing I use the PDA for, but it has definitely helped me from buying books I already have.

  2. Where on earth do you find the time to read all the books and watch all the DVDs you collect? When I’m on holiday I can knock off a book a day, but in the real world I’m lucky to get through one a week. Judging by your “Typical Day” post last Sunday, you don’t have that much spare time. How high is your TBR pile?

  3. I have no time to read, Howard. But I have an addiction. I still buy books as if I read two or three a week. I can’t seem to stop myself. Plus I have a collector mentality. I love Harry Whittington, so I’m trying to get all his stuff (even the “Ashley Carter” and “Blaine Stevens” potboilers).
