Mr. Monk and the Big Pile of Books

Tami, Monk fan extraordinaire, sent me this photo from a Barnes & Noble in Las Vegas.  It seems to me that MR. MONK GOES TO HAWAII is getting much bigger play at most B&N stores — twenty or more copies prominently displayed — than the first MONK book did. I hope they sell!

  1. It’s easy to be a “fan extraordinaire” of such an extraordinary show!
We’ll be in Burbank tomorrow and I’ll check out the display at the B&N there.

  2. This is an incredibly bad photo — it was taken with my cameraphone and I was trying to be discreet as there was a security guard standing a few feet away from me and I didn’t want her to think I was a Borders corporate spy — but my local B&N (El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito, CA) also had a nice display of MONK books near the front of the store:
    Prominently displayed MONK books

It’s just too bad Lee’s name isn’t better displayed on the cover! (And yes, I bought my copy after snapping the pic.)

  3. By the time I got to the B&N in Burbank and the Borders in Northridge, “… HAWAII” wasn’t on the “new releases” shelf any longer, but the MONK EPISODE GUIDE was (at Borders):

If it’s any consolation, both “FIREHOUSE” and “HAWAII” were displayed face-front (I’m sorry, I forgot the lingo) on the Mysteries shelf at both bookstores, ‘tho they did cover up the Diagnosis Murder books …
