This brings back sad memories. At some point into the production of the show’s first season, J-E Hexum the lead took a prop gun off the prop master’s table…and trying to be funny (apparantly) actually blew himself into a coma from which he never recovered. I was an actor at the time and was taking a class from one of his instructors and he and many others were just devistated by this. Actors note #1 – stay away from the prop table until the prop master hands you something!
I interviewed Jon-Erik Hexum for STARLOG magazine a few days before he accidentally killed himself. I think it may have been the last interview he ever did.
Hi Lee, I run a website for Jon-Erik’s fan club in Oregon and was wondering if you still had any scans or transcripts of the article you wrote. It would be an interesting read, I’m sure!
It was very sad that Jon-Erik died in such a way. I’m an active member of Jon’s fan club as well. I see someone posted a comment about Fanfiction for Cover Up, I have written 3 stories for the series and fanfiction.net finally gave us fans a category for it. I also run a fan website for Voyagers, that’s linked to my name here.I was the one who posted these credits on my Voyagers YT page. Take care. 🙂
