FOUR BOOKS A DAY?! I’m doing good if I can get in one a week. (‘Cuz I have to work on my own once in awhile, you know.)
You’d think the the Journal, if anyone, would at least put a little discernment into their puff pieces.
Harriet Klausner…. (he said while shaking his head.)
The same day I read this, I got a delivery from Amazon, including a book called ‘Writing On Both Sides Of The Brain’, by Henriette Anne Klauser.
Plate of shrimp, eh?
I have written, as of this time, 83 reviews of books and other products at Amazon. Currently, I average about 25 helpful votes per review. Your friend Harriet only averages 6. What does that tell you?
All,
There is a heated debate going on about this Harriet Klausner “reviewer” in the comment section of an online article questioning the plausibility of her purported activities.
See http://www.daytondailynews.com/o/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/booknook/entries/2007/04/04/bogus_book_reviews_on_amazonco.html for more details.
Best,

Harriet – I love reading your book review – I had another site that was a read alike site put out by Amazon- when I got this new computer i lost it -I thought i had it listed by web site -there were so many books according tosubject – my favorite as Women’s Friendship contemprary fiction- the nearest site my library helped with is Novelist but it is not the same- i thought you may know about it and would give me the information – thank you for readiing this – Marie Guadagno
I consider her speed reading claims credible until proven otherwise and do not expect any such evidence to materialize.
She must read alot. Too busy to answer her email and I would really like to know how her study on the effect of Science Fiction reading on comprehension scores came out. I suspect a positive correlation but it would have been interesting to get an answer from her.
Here are a few quick facts about HK. 16,600 reviews since 1999 means that every-single-day she reads 5 books. Never busy with a phone call? Headache? Cold? Does this woman have responsibilities of a job? Every-single-book she has ever read, she likes. Every-single-book-published she has instant access to. What do I mean by that? Today, July 24th 2008 @11am when I went to the Amazon site and she had reviewed 9 books. You know she “read” them today because HK has 7 reviews from yesterday. Any of this possible? No. The other thing HK has a penchant for reviewing a current review for all the books she’s “read”.
